5 Smart, But Simple Ways Guys Can Boost Their Confidence in 2020

While we are still in the month of January, the mood to improve things is still prominent. But while some of us focus on health or wealth, we tend to forget improving the smaller aspects.

For example, some people struggle to boost their confidence. It’s to the point it’s quite the problem. Especially in guys.

Confidence helps in all manner of things. It is often our sense of self-confidence that can allow numerous things like:

  • help us land the job we want,
  • do well at work,
  • and even succeed in our personal lives as well.

The good news is that there are smart and simple ways that everyone can use to boost their confidence. A topic you can read all about in the post below.

Talk Yourself Up

Now, let’s be clear here. I don’t mean bragging to others or exaggerating your ability at work. Instead, the type of talking up that is relevant here is more about your inner monologue. Yes, that’s right, just by changing the way that we talk to ourselves, we can gain much more confidence in life.

Of course, it takes a bit of practice to get used to this, especially as guys are prone to use harsh criticism and the threat of failure as motivators. In fact, it can even be beneficial to practice visualising yourself being successful at the things that you want to do. From benching more at the gym to being a more effective leader at work. Then, you will not only have a more positive audio input to your life but a positive visual one as well. This being something that can do your confidence no end of good.

Commit To Something

One of the smartest and most straightforward ways of boosting your confidence is to make a commitment and see it through. In fact, by doing this, your confidence will grow because you know that you can set your mind to something and get it done, even if it’s challenging.

However, a mistake that a lot of guys make here is to set themselves a task that is very difficult first off. Something that means they are much more likely to fail, and so knock their confidence rather than build it up.

Instead, be sure to start small and build up your confidence over time. Then even if you don’t quite make some of your more advanced goals straight away, your confidence won’t be shot to pieces. The reason being that you will have all of your other successes to remind you of how far you have come. Something that often makes it much easier to pick yourself up and dust yourself off, ready to try again. Rather than if you had gone straight into the more difficult task.

Boost Their Confidence By Smiling More

OK, so I’m not a fan of when others say “smile” if you are down. I think it can be toxic. However, there is power in a smile and knowing how to utilize this. It’s a good way to boost their confidence.

Smiling, can inspire trust, bond over a joke with others, and show support to your family or partner. Sadly, not all of us feel confident in flashing our chompers, especially if they aren’t as straight and pearly white as we’d like.

All is not lost, though, because having a crooked smile is something that can be easily fixed these days. In fact, orthodontic correction used to be a long and expensive procedure, but that is no longer the case.

The reason for this is that there is now a more affordable alternative than regular braces to consider. An option that is known as fast braces,  which can not only cost less but mean you could have the perfect smile in as little as 6 months. This being something that is bound to help boost your confidence. While also helping you to unleash the power of the smile in your life.

Allow For Mistakes

It may seem counterintuitive, but another approach guys can boost their confidence can come from acknowledging our mistakes. We are only human after all and mistakes are natural.

By taking such an attitude, you can reduce a great deal of the pressure that you put on yourself. Something that can make it easier to have confidence is to:

  • make crucial decisions,
  • try new things,
  • and really push yourself in new directions.

That is not to say, you shouldn’t always consider the impact of your choices and actions before you make them. It’s just without demanding perfection, you can be free to move forward more confidently in your life.

Boost Their Confidence Through Body Language

Body language is a fascinating thing, especially when it relates to confidence. In fact, it is an essential non-verbal signal to others, and to ourselves about how we feel at any given moment.

Of course, this does mean that it works both ways. If we feel afraid, depressed or sad, it is often expressed through the way that we hold our bodies. The good news is that with a little retraining, you can ensure your body language reads as confident.

Something that can not only positively affect how confident and able you feel. But they also should have an impact on how others will respond to you as well. Therefore further reinforce feelings of capability and confidence.

The first step to hacking your body language is to work on your posture. Do all that you can to avoid hunching your shoulders. If you can present yourself straighter and have an open posture, you will naturally seem more confident in any situation.

You can also take note of any little habits or tics that you do when you are nervous. Examples are not making eye contact with the person you are talking to or fiddling with things on your desk. Then with a little more mindfulness of these habits, you can slowly fade them out. Something that should ensure you both look and feel as confident as possible.
